The driveline is responsible for turning your axles, and your axle is what rotates your wheels. The driveline is connected to the differential and transmission through a series of universal joints.
Because universal and CV joints are crucial to your car, it’s a good idea to have them inspected every time your vehicle is up on the lift. If they are cracked or leaking in the boot, it can lead to severe damage to your vehicle.
If your vehicle ever vibrates during acceleration, it could be a sign of a faulty centre bearing or loose U-joint. Likewise, if you hear a loud clunking while shifting, it could be time to replace your u-joints.
These sounds can also mean some other driveline problems. So if you hear these noises, the best thing to do is to bring your car in so our mechanics can take a look.
At Silvhorn Automotive, our experienced mechanics can have your car on a lift and the problem located in no time. So next time you hear roughness, clicking noises or squeaking, make sure you come into Silvhorn for an undercarriage inspection.
